Will students write comments on a blog that they would not say in a math class? Would the blog comment opportunity by more effective if they were anonymous or using a pseudonym? Would math blogging be motivational without an equation editor?
My experience has been that students will usually participate a bit more if they are veiled by some form of anonymity. I don't encourage that but it seems to occur on its own.
I'll bet kids would practice writing about certain processes in blog form, Dan. Or you could just let the blog be something like Math Vent where kids could commiserate over the pain of math...:)
